Saints Weekly Athletic Update 10/20 – 10/25


  • Football defeated Huntington Beach 31-28 to earn a share of the Epsilon League Championship! After a slow start, going down 21-0, the Saints rallied back and scored three touchdowns in the second quarter to tie it up at halftime. The Saints scored a big field goal in the third quarter to take their first lead of the game. In the fourth quarter, the Saints scored their final touchdown to put the game out of reach. This will be their first league title in 10 years!

  • Girls Volleyball was placed in Division One for the first time in program history! They played against Harvard-Westlake in the first round. It was a tough game against a really good opponent. Unfortunately, the girls were unable to get the victory, losing in three sets. They finished the season 24-3 and were Freeway League Champions!

  • Boys Water Polo defeated La Habra 18-13 to win the Crestview League Championship! It is the Saints’ first one in the new league, going undefeated against their league opponents. In the playoffs, the boys were placed in Division Two. They will host Carpinteria on Thursday at Woollett Aquatic Center, starting at 5 p.m.

  • Girls Tennis is the Crestview League Champion! After defeating Foothill and Sunny Hills, the Saints finished league undefeated, going 8-0! The Saints will now gear up for the League Individual/Pairs Tournament this week.

  • Girls Golf is the Crestview League Champion! The Saints earned this title after an exciting match against Canyon, whom they had lost to earlier. This time the Saints won the rematch by one stroke, 188-189! They finished the season 7-1. The team was placed in Division One and will compete on November 3 for a CIF Title. All six girls on the team qualified for CIF Individuals!

  • Surf competed on Saturday against JSerra. The Saints came up just short, losing by two points. The Saints had some great performances, though, by Kai Rodriguez, who took 3rd in longboard, Grace Nichol getting 6th in shortboard, and Charlie Bowman taking 3rd in bodyboard!
