Athletics Weekly Update 8/24 – 8/29


  • Football defeated Mira Costa 31-10 to start the season 2-0! The Saints offense scored on their first possession and didn’t look back. The offense moved the ball well and put the game to rest in the fourth quarter. The defense pressured Mira Costa the entire game, forcing the Mustangs out of their comfort zone.

  • Girls Volleyball won two thrilling matches last week! To start, they played JSerra. Each set was tight and went to five. In the fifth, the girls found an extra gear to pull away and win the game! Their next game was at San Juan Hills. After going down two sets to none, the girls rallied and pulled off the reverse sweep! Both teams are in the top 10 in Orange County.

  • Girls’ Flag Football had a busy week playing five games. They started well, defeating South Hills 20-6 before falling to Mission Viejo in a defensive game 6-12. The Saints bounced back and again played tough defense to win 7-6. Over the weekend, they played their round robin games at Colony, going 1-1.

  • Boys Water Polo lost their only game against Uni during the week. It was a tight match where the Trojans came out on top. Over the weekend, they played in the Long Beach Poly Tournament. It was a great opportunity to play against some top teams from LA. The Saints lost their three games but competed hard and held on to the end.
