Athletics Weekly Update 3/9 – 3/14

Baseball played their first league game of the season over break. They lost a tight one to Pacifica, 1-2. The Saints also started the Anaheim Lions Tournament over the weekend. They lost their first two games but look to bounce back and win their next two.

Girls Beach Volleyball went undefeated over spring break! They opened against Orange Lutheran and only dropped one set. Against Trabuco Hills and Rosary, all five pairs won! As they head into league they are 8-1.

Lacrosse went 1-1 over break. Against Northwood, both sides of the ball played excellently; the offense scored 16 goals while the defense allowed only two. In their second league game of the season the Saints lost a good match to a tough Canyon team. The final score was 6-12.

Softball didn’t play over spring break. They are 6-0 and their most recent win was a thrilling 5-4 victory over Newport Harbor!

Swim & Dive competed in two tournaments over break, Capo Relays and Mt. Sac Winterfest. Both events were great opportunities for our swimmers as they were able to compete against many different schools. At the Capo Relays the boys 300 Butterfly relay finished 2nd overall!

Boys Tennis played two matches over break. They lost to JSerra but defeated Troy, 11-7. Troy was the first league opponent they faced this season. Starting Thursday, the rest of their games will be against league teams.

Track & Field has had a great start to their season, not only as a team but also individually. In their first league meet the Saints, boys and girls, defeated Troy. At the Earl Engman Relays, there were many PRs, and the boys’ varsity team was the tournament champion. At the Irvine Invitational, a few school records were broken: Jaxon Cantrell in the 100 meters and Luke Bremmer in the 3200 meters. The girls varsity team was the champion of this invitational!

Boys Volleyball did not compete over spring break, but enter league matches this week. They hold a 7-7 record going into the Freeway League.
