Saints Athletics Weekly Update 1/12 – 1/17

Boys Basketball went 2-0 this week! They defeated league rival Foothill with solid defense, 57-45. On Saturday, the Saints hosted one of the top teams in Orange County, Fairmont Prep. It was an exciting game, with both teams playing fast and hard. The Saints kept their cushion and won by ten, 51-41. In the OC Register, the Saints are currently ranked 2nd in Orange County!

Girls Basketball lost both games this week. Against Esperanza, the Saints battled the league’s top team but couldn’t win. Then on Saturday, the Saints played Rancho Cucamonga. It was a great game, going back and forth, but the Saints lost 46-53.

Boys Soccer had a solid week, winning one game and tying the other. The Saints defeated Troy, scoring three goals to win 3-1. Then, against Pacifica, it was a tight matchup that ended in a 1-1 draw.

Girls Soccer lost one game and tied another; both were league games. The Saints lost against Pacifica in the final minutes. Then, against the top team in the league, Yorba Linda, the Saints defense battled hard and came out with a 0-0 draw.

Girls Water Polo played two non-league games and four tournament games last week. They split the non-league games as well as the tournament games. To start the week, they defeated Trabuco Hills 19-10 and lost to Canyon. In the tournament, they lost to two good opponents, Edison and Westridge. They bounced back and won their final two games against Santa Monica, 15-9, and El Dorado, 10-5.
