Saints Weekly Athletic Update 10/6 – 10/10


Football is now 2-0 in league after a 50-7 victory over El Dorado. The Saints jumped out to a 29-0 lead at the end of the first thanks to all three aspects of the game. Special teams caused a fumble, and the defense had a pick, which gave the Saints great field position. The offense scored two touchdowns off the turnovers. Crean Lutheran is currently ranked 8th in Orange County.

Girls Volleyball played their second-to-last league game against Troy on Tuesday. The Saints were victorious, sweeping the Warriors! With one game left, they are 23-2 and tied for first in the league. Monday’s game against Foothill will be for the Freeway League title.

Girls Flag Football went 1-1 last week. They lost early in the week to a tough Cypress team. They bounced back and got a big win against Sonora, winning 27-14. They are 10-12 this season with one game remaining.

Boys Water Polo lost both games this week against two top programs in Orange County: San Juan Hills and Orange Lutheran. They are 11-11 playing a tough schedule, but they are 2-0 in league and have a playoff spot secured!

Girls Tennis won both of their league games last week! They first beat Sunny Hills 14-4 and then won an exciting 9-9 match against Yorba Linda. The Saints won the tiebreaker thanks to Grace Choi and Maddie Huang-Camba’s 7-6 victory.

Girls Golf won their Senior Night match against Troy! The Saints defeated the Warriors 189-201. In the most recent rankings, the Saints are ranked 3rd in CIF-SS.
