Saints Weekly Athletic Update 9/22 – 9/27

Girls Volleyball played one game last week. After losing the first set to Foothill, they bounced back and won the next two. However, they were unable to secure the victory, losing in five sets. On the season, the Saints record is 20-2 and 3-1 in league.

Girls Flag Football started the week winning their first league game of the season against Sonora! They got off to a 20-0 lead at halftime and were able to hold Sonora off until the end, winning 20-12. They lost their second game of the week to Canyon. It was a defensive battle as neither team did much on offense. The final score was 6-12. The Saints are 10-7 on the season and halfway through league 1-3.

Boys Water Polo had a big week that started with a huge win against league rival Foothill. Foothill has been reigning league champion the past few years. The Saints played an excellent game to secure their first program win over them, 14-12. They then faced OC Top 10 team Laguna Beach, where they battled hard but lost 14-17. Over the weekend, they competed in the S & R Tournament, where some of the best Water Polo programs in California compete. The Saints went 1-3, defeating Redwood 9-7. In the other three games, they lost by a total of six goals. They are 10-9 on the season.

Girls Tennis got off to a great start in league this week, winning both games! The first one against Yorba Linda was close all the way through until the Saints ended winning four of the final six sets to secure the 10-8 victory! Against Foothill, the Saints were victorious 12-6. The singles players swept all nine of their sets. The girls are 6-3 on the season and 2-0 in the early stages of league.

Girls Golf won their only match of the week! They defeated Sunny Hills by 14 strokes 183-197. The Saints have been consistent all season, with their final score between 183 and 188. Keep up the good work! They are 5-1 on the season and 3-1 in league.
