Girls Cross Country Punches Ticket to State After Record-Breaking Performance

For the first time since 2012, the Saints Girls Cross Country team is headed to the CIF State Championships!

The Saints rose to the occasion at the CIF Southern Section Finals, finishing 7th overall and securing an automatic qualifying spot despite entering the race unranked. Their performance not only exceeded expectations but also cemented their place in program history by breaking the all-time team time record by over a full minute, averaging 19:03 among the top five runners.

Leading the charge was Gwendy Mo, who delivered her Personal Record best of 18:24, finishing 20th overall and setting the tone early. Close behind, Adelaide Hare continued her consistent and impressive season with a strong 18:47 finish.

It was a day of personal breakthroughs across the roster:

  • Gwendy Mo – 18:24 (20th overall, lifetime best)

  • Adelaide Hare – 18:47

  • Alexis Landrus – 19:10 (season best, 35-second drop)

  • Grace Lopez – 19:15 (impressive performance as a freshman)

  • Catherine Ertel – 19:37 (season best)

  • Adelyn Brady – 19:41 (massive personal best)

  • Iris Yin – 21:39 (strong closing effort)

Every runner contributed to the final outcome, and every second mattered. From personal records to breakthrough performances, the Saints showcased resilience, competitive grit, and unity—traits that define championship-caliber teams.
