Weekly Athletic Update 4/20 – 4/25


  • Baseball lost their series to El Modna. They fought hard in both games and kept them competitive, but couldn’t pull out a win.

  • Girls Beach Volleyball played in the CIF Division 2 playoffs last week. The Saints lost their opening match to Huntington Beach. It was a well-fought match, where the girls battled the conditions but only took one of the five games. The Saints finished the season 14-3 and were the Crestview League Champions! Congratulations!

  • Boys Golf lost their only match last week to Sunny Hills. It was the final one of the regular season. The boys finished with a 6-2 record and 2nd in the Crestview League. This week, they will compete in the League Prelims and Finals for Individuals, with the following week being Team CIF and Individual CIF.

  • Boys Lacrosse split their final two games of the season. The Saints won a thrilling back-and-forth game against Edison, winning 8-7. They finished the season 10-9, in 3rd place in the league. They automatically qualified for CIF playoffs and will be at Servite on Wednesday for the first game.

  • Softball went undefeated last week! They defeated both non-league opponents Portola and Westminster. The Saints then defeated league opponent Sunny Hills in walkoff fashion. Going into the final inning down six runs, the Saints put up five runs. With a runner on first and only one out, the Saints bunted down the third base line. Sunny Hills overthrew the first basemen, and the ball rolled out to right field. With speed on the bases, the runner on first scored, and as the right fielder was bobbling the ball, the batter rounded third and scored to win 10-9.

  •  Swim & Dive competed in their last regular-season meet of the season. Both boys and girls defeated Foothill, as we got to celebrate our seniors as well. This week, both teams will be vying for a league championship as they compete in the League Prelims and Finals.

  • Boys Tennis finished the regular season with a win! The Saints defeated El Dorado 15-3 to finish 2nd in league. The team will compete in the League Individuals this week before heading into CIF.

  • Track & Field competed in the Freeway League Prelims on Friday. It was a great showing, as many individuals qualified for Finals, which will take place on Thursday.

  • Boys Volleyball season has come to an end. They lost their final game of the season to a tough Sunny Hills team. They finished the season 10-13.
