Athletics Weekly Update 3/23 – 3/28


  • Baseball lost both games last week. The Saints were tied with Brea Olinda and had to go into extra innings. Brea Olinda pulled ahead and won. Against El Modena, it was a tightly contested game where the Vanguards squeaked by with a one-run win.

  • Girls Beach Volleyball won both league matches last week! Against Canyon, it came down to the last pair, where the Saints pulled off the 3-2 win! Against Yorba Linda, the team played well, losing only one of the five pairs games. The Saints are now 12-1 on the season!

  • The Boys Golf team was out in Nevada last week for their annual Southern Nevada Invitational Tournament. It was a great tournament where the boys not only played some great golf but also did some team bonding!

  • Boys Lacrosse went 1-2 in their games last week. The Saints lost both non-league games but got a big win over Esperanza. The win helps them in their league standings as they qualify for an automatic playoff spot.

  • Softball played five games last week, going 4-1! In their wins, the Saints outscored their opponents 63-19. They won an exciting league game against Sunny Hills, prevailing by one run! Over the weekend, the girls travelled to Catalina to have some team bonding while playing a series against Avalon. The Saints won both games and had a great time together on the island!

  • Swim and Dive competed in their second league meet of the season against Troy. The girls swim team won by 20 points, and the boys kept it close but couldn’t pull out the victory. They also competed in the OC Championships, where the Saints faced some of the best in Orange County. It was a great opportunity, and there were also some PRs set!

  • Boys Tennis split their two league games last week. They started the week with a great 13-5 victory over Troy. Foothill was a tough matchup, but it was competitive until the end.

  • Track & Field had their second league meet of the season on Thursday. Both boys and girls won to improve to 2-0 in league! The Saints then competed in the Beach Cities Invitational and in the TEN over the weekend. They were great invites with many Saints posting PRs and great performances. Some highlights included Jaxon Cantrell breaking the school 100-meter record with a time of 11.01 and Adelaide Hare running an 11:29 in the 3200-meter, the second-best time in school history. Noah Richardson jumped 15-0 in the pole vault to win the invitational!

  • Boys Volleyball lost both of their league matches. The boys stayed competitive but lost to both Canyon and Foothill in four sets.
